my mom won best in show at the flower show! the theme was "Remembering Jamestown - Celebrating with Red, White and Blue!" it took her 1 day to make it; she painted the bricks that support the vase. she went against the rules of flower arranging by putting the heavy flowers at the top but it was all part of her creative "fireworks" design.
Great job mom!

If I had any idea that this photo was going to end up on your blog - I would have put on some make up and brished my hair!
How does one brish hair???
Better still what is brished hair??
Brish is an Italian word that is the origin of our English word "brush." The blogger identifying herself as "mom" apparently mistakenly thought that she could beautify herself further. This, of course, would be impossible because she has already attained the pinnacle of beauty.
@wordsmith - if you are not mom then you have just scored some major points! that's hilarious and very factual. ;-)
@mom - if you want me to take it down let me know but the brain behind the brainchild is a must see! 199 years from now when the Martians read this post in outer space they're gonna want to see the genius of such a stellar design. (ha, ha, do you get it? stellar? as in stars? as in stars and stripes? as in the theme of the flower show? ... ok, i'm sure you've got it) do you have a good non-blurry pic of just the flowers? again, really fantastic work, mom. i'm not the least bit surprised but i am very proud! keep up that creative outpouring. i'm one of your biggest fans.
Congratulations Sue's Mom - great display! My Mum likes gardening also, but she's never entered a flower show contest.
Off to brish* and mop my kitchen floor now.
