peek-a-google-boo

while googling someone the other day i came across a document titled, "English Translation of Brazil’s Labor and Employment Ministry Primer on Sex Professional" which is an actual document published by the Brazilian government on how to be a successful sex worker -- a prostitution primer, if you will. if you're like me, you'll find yourself first thinking of it as some kind of spoof, some kind of just-for-laughs mock-document, but it is not a joke and it's not fake.

prostitution is legal in Brazil ...

and, contradicting my cultural upbringing, i'm oddly more curious than offended

in this document, you will find tips on how to lure and satisfy customers as well as advice on how to minimize health risks and manage budgets. if you're looking for ethical judgments on prostitution, you won't find any here. this document seems to exist in a world where discrimination against prostitution does not. and reading it caused me to imagine, even for just a few brief moments, a world without other discriminations -- ah, such euphoric moments those were.

so who did i peek-a-google, you're wondering? i won't say but i'm sure you can guess who. however, the real question is whether or not the dots connect or just coincidentally line up with no relation to each other. maybe i'll find out. maybe i won't. in any event, holy cow, prostitution is legal in Brazil and the government teaches you how to do it. (no pun intended)

Peek-a-google - cute expression but it sounds a bit rude!

Now why doesn't Blogger have the ability to edit my comments?
