My trip to Korea (2005 - 2009) was a personal journey to discover what life is like on the other side of the world. Stateside now and having found the love of my life, this blog is sure to go quiet for long stretches at a time but may see a sprinkle of disjointed topics, thoughts that pass through my mind, and perhaps bits and pieces of being in love with my husband. Welcome!

bumpy wagon ride
today i fell off my wagon. i ordered (and ate) a small cheese and pepperoni pizza and some bizarre corn/cheese side dish (it was free so it tasted great) and the holy grail of all my dietary indiscretions ... soda. i swore off soda many years ago with positive results on my health (and teeth). going soda-free represents a major accomplishment in my battle with food; my soda addiction was an enormous hurdle to overcome. but i did it. so i feel really guilty, not just because of the soda but because of all the starches which only feed the yeast which happily grows wild within me. i'm trying to cut down on my sugars and starches and eat more spinach, cauliflower, and broccoli. i'll do better tomorrow. after all, it's Christmas!
