i really hate the invention of this prodcut

http://thebodyshop-ca.stores.yahoo.net/aloilinhndre.html

my colleague uses this product so often that she keeps the lid to the tub unscrewed (yes, i've gone on secretive reconnaissance missions) and throughout the day she lathers herself in it even after i told her that it was giving me a terrible headache. every 30 to 45 mins i have to leave the office for fresh air. as soon as i leave the relief is instant and as soon as i return the offensive smell smacks me in my face to welcome me back to my desk. i can't believe no one else's nose isn't burning like mine is with each and every inhale full of this overpowering fragrance. and i'm pretty sure the eye burning sensation is attributable to that product as well. there are two others who sit closer to her than i do but they are immune apparently. seriously, i have resorted to wearing a scarf around my face and sometimes i use a face mask to filter the air i breath but it's usually not 100% effective and uncomfortable to use. the president asked me one day if i was sick. "not exactly" i said, wishing i could say more.

this particular woman was gone for the first month of my employment so i have fond memories of those days of uninterrupted concentration. this woman's desk is like a mini cosmetic shop. she has every smelling product available to woman and throughout the day i hear her spritzing and spraying herself. lids and caps to her product assortments are popping open and snapping shut throughout the day.

the next step, i'm going to buy charcoal for my desk which is supposed to eat the smell out of the air. i guess another step would be to move my desk farther away from hers. no one from my team seems to smell it until they come to my desk and then they can smell it. if anyone has ideas, please share!

i know my nose is more sensitive to these smells than the average Jane, but what's the damn point in drowning oneself in unnatural, artificial aromas anyhow!

this is what she's rubbing all over herself:

Water, Glycerin, Cyclomethicone, Prunus Amygdalus Dulcis (Sweet Almond) Oil, Cetearyl Alcohol, Butyrospermum Parkii (Shea Butter), Propylene Glycol, Ethylhexyl Palmitate, Glycine Soja (Soybean) Oil, Dimethicone, Fragrance, Glyceryl Stearate, PEG-100 Stearate, Phenoxyethanol, Benzyl Alcohol, Panthenol, Ceteth-10 Phosphate, Dicetyl Phosphate, Xanthan Gum, Carbomer, Methylparaben, Sodium Hydroxide, Disodium EDTA, Butylparaben, Ethylparaben, Isobutylparaben, Propylparaben,Yellow 6.

"Fragrance" could be ANYTHING
and Yellow 6!?

i'd rather smell poo. then at least i know i'd be inhaling something organic. (i came back to this already posted post to add this poo comment ~ that's how much i'd rather be smelling poo right now.)

oh, i feel 100% better than yesterday's post. man, PMS is crazy! i don't even feel ~that~ bad about gaining weight. i wonder what it's like to be a man with no swinging of the emotions. don't you guys get bored with every day like the one before. every day you look in the mirror and feel the exact same way about yourself that you felt the day before. weird.

oh, my dad loves me! :-) hi dad!
(sorry i snuck you in on my poo edit.)

Sue - I'm so with you on this. I cannot stand fragrances of any kind and I have said it before - I would rather smell B.O. - it might be offensive but it doesn't give me a headache, make my eyes water and my throat close. Why don't you tell this lady how this fragrance affects you? Is common courtesy unheard of in the business world of Seoul? Why not find something that she hates, and incorporate it into your workspace. Can you burn incense? How about fruit fragrances like lime or sour apple. Want me to send you some Pinesall? How about moth balls in little glass votives in a wide circle on the floor around her desk? Make a large desk sign in Korean that says this: TOO MUCH OF A GOOD THING IS A BAD THING! Or draw a stick figure lying dead on the floor and an asphyxiated expression on his lifeless little face…. Next to his body, a girl wearing a CSI lab coat, with a knowing expression, holding up a Q-tip with an arrow pointing to it that says the stinky woman’s name. Gad zooks! Where can we get a can of Spray Fart Smell? Hey – do they have Spencer’s in Korea?

I once worked in an office with a guy who milked cows in the morning and didn't shower before his arrival to the office. I have a hard time deciding which smell I would prefer -- the natural stench of cow poop or all of this stuff that you speak of.

I like Mom's idea of incense or something. Make it into a fragrance war -- the strongest fragrance will push back the fragrance of the other. Who has the most overpowering cloud of odoriferousness?!

You don't want to be a man because then you would know what we have to put up with when you ladies have your PMS cycles. And to be a man in a household of women when all of you are on the same cycle is just the pits. It's no wounder men die before women most of the time.

Sing to the mountains sing to the sea
Raise your voices lift your hearts
This is the day the Lord has made
Let all the earth rejoice

today she didn't wear this product and i'd like to think it was because yesterday when i befriended her in the ladies room and she asked me if was sick (because of the face mask), i told her i'm allergic to the Almond oil hand rescue cream she uses .... and today it was a marvelous day of no headaches, nose burns or eye burns and full on concentration.

i hope this lasts....

although i can never be sure what messages are getting across due to the language barrier. i don't know how good her English comprehension is.

anyway, i love this day!
