Resolutions, but maybe not New Year's

If one hasn’t quit them by now, are they still called New Year’s Resolutions …

… or perhaps lifestyle changes?

I’m happy to report that I’ve made and held the following commitments to myself:

  • No coffee
    • Why I’m doing it
      • To save my teeth from further browning
      • To avoid that after coffee jittery feeling which I don’t like
      • I recognized an overuse; I don’t want to become dependent
      • To save money
    • How I’m doing it (alternate choices)
      • Green tea latte
      • Hot Chocolate
      • Mocha Milk Box drink at Storyway for ₩900
  • No soda (clear or dark)
    • Why I’m doing it
      • I don’t want to be the slave to soda that I once was
      • I kept making excuses to fall off my 2.5 year cold turkey wagon
      • Caffeine withdraw coming off soda gave me the worst kind of headaches I’ve had
      • To save my teeth from further browning
    • How I’m doing it (alternate choices)
      • 100% Fruit drinks
      • Water
  • Have better posture while walking, standing
    • Why I’m doing it
      • I’ve seen me in windows and mirrors on my way to and fro and I walk like a charging linebacker
      • Better posture = better confidence
    • How I’m doing it
      • Continue taking yoga, building a stronger core
      • Continue noting my posture in windows and mirror
  • Cut down on the TV watching
    • Why I’m doing it
      • Waste of time
      • Nothing valuable comes from watching the series of series I watch
      • Need more time for other interests
    • How I’m doing it
      • Following 1 crime show (SVU)
      • Following 1 comedy cartoon show (Family Guy)
      • Following 1 feel good show (How I Met Your Mother)
      • Following 1 drama show (Grey’s Anatomy)
      • Following some comedy shows (30 Rock, Extras, The Office) ~ hey, laughter is a stress reliever so it's not wasted time.
      • NOTE: As for educational shows (like Discovery Channel, History Channel, National Geographic or documentaries) there is no limit.
  • Make more time
    • Why I’m doing it
      • To pursue other interests such as learning Korean, dancing, reading more, volunteering and martial arts.
    • How I’m doing it
      • Cutting down on the TV watching
      • Cutting down on the instant messaging
      • Cutting down on the emailing
      • Putting together a daily/weekly/monthly schedule or routine of activities as a guide (not a rule)
  • Schedule my life
    • Why I’m doing it
      • So that I don’t spend hours and hours doing one thing and then play catch up to do the other things and get to bed after midnight (like tonight)
    • How I’m doing it
      • After many rough drafts on paper, it’s Google Calendar, baby!
  • Volunteer
    • Why I’m doing it
      • Because I feel better about myself when I volunteer
    • How I’m doing it
      • Contacting Little Hands, House of Sharing and Korean Mountaineering League
  • Vitamins daily
    • Why I’m doing it
      • (In combination with other healthy practices) to keep me healthy and not sick
      • Because I have a big jar of vitamins from mom
    • How I’m doing it
      • Nothing to it but to do it
  • Wear my retainer at night
    • Why I’m doing it
      • My teeth are shifting
    • How I’m doing it
      • Nothing to it but to do it

What happened to "Lost"? Did you give up on it? But I'm sure that's the least of your worries right now. I wish you the best.
