- i left a BRAND NEW pair of insulated gloves, which i hadn't even worn yet, in a taxi
- i busted the power adapter for one of the skype phones i won - it's a 110 plug and i used only a converter (not transformer) to plug it into a 220 outlet, it worked for about 30 seconds then i heard a noise and then it no longer works
- i left my electric blanket turned on this morning when i folded it up and put it away, with the controller nested in between a fold, melting it permanently on level 2 (of 7)
it's so easy for me to get down on myself over these things because i see it as so wasteful and irresponsible and careless. it bothers me that these things have happened; that i have done these things; that i have lost/broken my things. it's like throwing money out the window.
but worse things could have happened
- i could have left something far more valuable than gloves in a taxi
- i could have blown the power adapter for an appliance that i heavily rely on such as my computer
- i could have burnt the house down
tonight, i go to bed with shortsightedness.

sure is a shame to see you still behaving as a human. i thought you would have gotten that out of your system by now! oh sue, chalk it up to fate...maybe you are going to get a gift of better gloves and you had to loose yours to really appreciate the ones that are about to find you? it could happen!
or maybe your gloves will show up on the famous lost glove web site, and the man of your dreams will be surfing the net, find the web site, see your gloves, and go on a world exploration to find the slender hand that they belong to and your eyes will meet and fireworks will go off and then you will wake up and wonder why you got so upset about such a little thing. ;)
At the same time I got the email that gave me the "heads up" on this blog posting, I got the following email from Chub: "Life is short, Break the rules, Forgive quickly, Kiss slowly, Love truly, Laugh uncontrollably, And never regret anything that made you smile." When you do all of that, it leaves little time for licking wounds. I'm sorry you lost, blew-up and melted your belongings. I hate when that happens. (O, by the way, now you know why they invented the "F" word.)
