bacteria killer

you go around thinking that you are sure about something, then one day you meet someone who questions what you so confidently believe, and then you turn to google.

hot water kills bacteria, such as E Coli, at 110 degrees Fahrenheit - too hot for the hands to tolerate for extended periods of time. however, soap and warm to hot water remove oil and grime, the oil and grime that could contain bacteria. so, yes, the hot tap water may not be hot enough to kill bacteria or if it is, the dish washer may not be able to tolerate it for the necessary amount of time, but hot water works hand-in-hand with soap to effectively wash away bacteria.

from this article:

"technically, hot water by itself can kill bacteria, although it would have to be hotter than what we could tolerate. But the hot water we use is necessary to remove bacteria from our surfaces"
