lazy day

today is a lazy day so i'm sure this will be a lazy post. it's raining and seems like it will be raining all day and tomorrow too. it's a little gloomy. i had several plans for today but they all got cancelled so i got to sleep in and now i can do whatever i want to do today. i'm not sure what that will be yet - at the moment it's writing about it.

i have taken care of the chore with the highest priority - getting service for my new cell phone. next week i have to return the cell phone which i currently use. it's a rental phone and the service was already hooked up when i rented the phone. but, i can no longer take advantage of that since recent changes in their policy make it too expensive to rent over a long period of time. so ... i had to branch out on my own, buy a cell phone and get service on it which is not easy to do because of the language barrier ... but thanks to Daves ESL Cafe, i found a sticky that mentioned a shop in Iteawon catering to foreigners (i.e. they speak english). so, now i have a new number. i went to the Samsung service center yesterday and transferred all the contact numbers from my old phone to my new (used) phone (which is incidentally the same model as the rental phone - cool).

anyway, i'm bored of talking about that now.

what to do ... what to do ...

of course there is eating ... i love to do that.

and then there is working out ... well i went to yoga last night. firday night yoga is "dance yoga" and it is really cool. we danced to Christina Aguilera's "Genie in a Bottle" and the dance moves are really pretty.

i could work on my lesson plans ... nah, it's too gloomy of a day to do something that i don't really want to do.

i could clean the house ... maybe ... i guess the toilet needs cleaning and the bathroom sink does too but i've already done my laundry and cleaned the kitchen the other day. the floors ... they are always not clean enough.

i could read ... i need to finish my Freakonomics so that i can start a new book. sometimes i wish i was a speed reader. there are soooo many books out there that i'd like to read but it's such an investment of time.

i could go art hopping ... well today is a perfect day seeing as how it's saturday and i have no obligations but the rain makes it a little messy to go out and about.

i could fix my curtains ... since spring is coming i want to be able to draw my curtains completely and let all the light of the day into my room while at the same time i want to be able to achieve complete darkness at night since even the slightest presence of light pierces my thin eye lids. currently i have rigged the curtain system to favor the night conditions in that i have black plastic bags taped to the upper half of my windows (between the curtains and the windows) but a new design is needed - one that will incorporate the black plastic bags into the curtain drawing system so that the black plastic bags can be drawn up and down along with the curtains themselves revealing the full window when the curtains are drawn up and covering the window completely when the curtains are drawn down.

i could play around with Windows Movie Maker today and try to extract my favorite bits of videos from their original contexts.

i could make that list of korean foods that i've been thinking about making.

i could finally post the photos from my trip around Korea last October for Chuseok (oh, it's really a wonder why i haven't done it already - i mean, what the hell am i waiting for?)

i could paint my nails.

i could make hot chocolate and put on my most favorite comfy sweater and stay in bed a little while longer listening to the lazy rain drops on the windows.
