i think i found out why i'm sick with Bronchitis-like symptoms ... so tonight, i get into bed (traditional korean mat) and it feels damp and moist, i get out of bed and lift my mat to discover .... MOLD ....................... ahhhh.
i'm dedicating this saturday to addressing this problem seriously, starting with a thorough cleaning with bleach, then further online research, then perhaps a new mat cover, brining my fan back into my room and finally, instituting a new morning routine to include folding up my mat as soon as i get up in the mornings and running the fan while i go take my shower. will look into dehumidifier costs as well, but really don't want to buy another _thing_ to stuff into my room. perhaps all this heat i've been trapping into my room with the plastic window seals and now with my electric blanket, the room is too damp.
for more than a week i've had symptoms like Bronchitis which in all of my sicknesses here in korea, i've never had.
ugh....
i'm going to ~try ~ to put this out of my mind and go to bed.

A condensation problem under your mat? Do you think that's why your landlady was pointing out the "American style bed" a while back?
An anti-fungus spay may have less annoying fumes than bleach.
Time to get some antibiotics to clear up the Bronchitis-like symptoms?
blue,
1. yes ~ great memory; i am considering switching to the American style 4-inch foam mattress i have stowed away in my closet but wonder if not having a bed frame to lift it off the floor will not improve the problem.
2. yes ~ cleaned with bleach today but since i'm still congested the bleach smell was hardly noticeable
3. yes ~ i suppose i should go to the doctors ... but i don't want to.
